Nestled along the scenic Carretera de El Torcal, this quaint takeout restaurant has won the hearts of locals and visitors alike with its simple yet delectable offerings and welcoming atmosphere.

Venta el Conejo crafts its menu around traditional Spanish dishes that radiate homemade warmth. Popular selections include the Conejo al Ajillo — succulent rabbit prepared in a delightful garlic sauce that sings with flavor, and the Lomo en Adobo, featuring tender pork loin infused with aromatic spices. Complement your meal with the Ensalada de la Casa, a fresh medley of garden greens tossed in olive oil and vinegar, or indulge in the irresistible Fuente de Patatas Fritas, boasting some of the crispiest fries you’ll ever taste. Diners rave about the impressive portion sizes, making it an ideal stop for a hearty meal.

The warm, inviting atmosphere at Venta el Conejo enhances every dining experience. Picture yourself seated on the terrace, relishing your food under the sun, while listening to happy chatter from fellow patrons. Customers often share that dining here feels like being part of a local community gathering. Jose Luis Martin states, "Ir pronto si queréis sitio en la terraza," capturing the irresistible allure of enjoying a meal in the open air. On sunny days, the terrace transforms into a delightful oasis, perfect for enjoying both the scenery and the company.

Deserts don’t fall short either! Take a moment to savor the creamy Arroz con Leche or rich Natillas con Galleta, each bite promising satisfaction that lingers long after the meal is finished.

While the menu may be concise, it consistently delivers on flavor and quality. Regulars like Steveinspain KAP appreciate the menu's simplicity, saying, "This is a favourite haunt of the local Antequeranos," which speaks volumes about the restaurant's reputation among locals. As the cozy, unpretentious setting adds to the appeal, it’s no surprise that Venta el Conejo is often bustling with customers eager to taste the rich flavors of Andalusian cuisine.

Despite a few whispers of desire for a seating area, the takeaway experience has proven ample for many, as evidenced by renowned reviews. Miren Rodriguez, a satisfied customer, marvelously summarized, "Las mejores patatas fritas que he comido en mi vida," highlighting the establishment’s commitment to delivering memorable flavors.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by Venta el Conejo for a deliciously authentic take on Spanish comfort food that will leave your taste buds singing and your heart warm.

This is a favourite haunt of the local Antequeranos. Very simple menu. We go often and have rabbit in a garlic sauce, pork loin in a tomato sauce, fried eggs, basic mixed salad with tomato, sweet white onion and lettuce! (it comes pre-tossed with oil and vinegar but can be salty sometimes. You can ask for it without salt and add your own.) There is also a roasted pork loin served in small slices. For my taste it's tough as leather but it's a very popular dish with the Spaniards. There is also chorizo, liver and a few more but I doubt there are more than 20 dishes in total. Tasty desserts and the typical ice cream treats for the kids. The staff (family) are fantastic and always happy to see you. Count on 10-15€ per head and you'll eat very well. Décor is about as typical a Spanish roadside eatery can get: wooden tables, wooden chairs, a few pictures on the wall and nada más. Great vibe and a place you should visit if you're in Antequera. Torcal nature park is about 15 minutes away and is a great site to spend some time. Don't forget your hiking shoes!
